Argentina: doing it right. After passing a groundbreaking gender identity law on Wednesday, Argentina, which became the first Latin American country to legalize same-sex marriage, now leads the entire world when it comes to trans rights.
The new law, which was passed by 55-0 and is expected to be signed by president Cristina Fernandez, grants trans people the right to legally change their gender identity without having to get approval from doctors or judges–and, importantly, without having to change their bodies at all first. Not having a valid ID that matches your gender identity is a huge barrier to access to education, employment, health care, you name it. As Kalym Sori, an Argentinian trans man said, “This is why the law of identity is so important. It opens the door to the rest of our rights.”

Today on: I’ve become addicted to filming videos and then never, ever uploading them and just screencapping them because I’m so cute

this wonderful human robot fairy queen has become one of my role models as far as taking my fashion cues from myself rather than other people. idgaf if my style is “ugly” compared to the hetero-normative bunch or bleach blonde sorority girls in town. im fly as hell and my lilac lipstick will keep rockin.

really though, Arabelle is my favorite right now.

i am happy u like me but do not fall victim to the “i’m not like other girls” idea where those sorority girls are any less interesting potentially! strange lipstick, just like a bleach blonde ombre, doesn’t make you inherently more unique or better of a person. who knows, maybe one of those sorority girls is actually very queer and would be a cool person to talk to about stuff. do not think yourself a Daria. Daria was an asshole of a cartoon character, friend.

the great thing about being confident in yourself is that you have enough generosity that when people pity you for not being like them, it doesn’t impact you at all. those girls are not your enemy. they are not the problem.
